Public Drug And Alcohol Reporting Procedure

You do not need an account, a receipt or a reference number. You may report anonymously. Every report is read.

Published publicly as required by City of Tallahassee Code sec. 22-32(a)(6), which requires a vehicle for hire company to give the public notice of the procedure for reporting a driver the passenger reasonably suspects was under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the course of the ride.

1. If You Are In The Vehicle Right Now

Your safety comes first. If you believe the driver is impaired and you are able to do so safely, ask the driver to stop and let you out in a safe, well lit place. If you believe there is an immediate danger to you or to anyone else, call 911.

Do not confront the driver.

2. How To Report To DJ Capital Transport

You may report in any of these ways. You do not need an account, a receipt or a reference number to make a report.

3. What To Tell Us

Report anything you have. A report is never rejected for being incomplete.

1. The date and approximate time of the ride.
2. Where you were picked up and where you were going.
3. The vehicle: colour, make and model, and the licence plate if you have it.
4. The driver name, or first name, if you know it.
5. What you observed that caused your concern, in your own words.
6. How we can contact you, if you want a response. You may report anonymously.

4. What Happens Next

1. Immediate removal. As soon as we receive a report that a driver may have been impaired, that driver is taken off all driving duties. This happens before any investigation and is not a finding against the driver.
2. Acknowledgement. If you gave us contact details, we acknowledge your report within one business day.
3. Testing. The driver is required to submit to a drug and alcohol test under our Zero Tolerance Drug And Alcohol Policy.
4. Investigation. We review trip records, the daily log, vehicle records and any other available evidence.
5. Outcome. A confirmed positive result, a refusal to test, or a tampering attempt ends the driving relationship permanently.
6. Cooperation with the City. We notify and cooperate fully with the City of Tallahassee Vehicle For Hire Administrator during the pendency of any investigation, as required by sec. 22-32(a)(6).
7. Closing the loop. If you gave us contact details, we tell you when the matter is closed.

5. Reporting Directly To The City

You may report to the City instead of, or in addition to, reporting to us. You do not need our permission and you do not need to tell us first.

6. No Retaliation

DJ Capital Transport will not retaliate against any passenger, driver, employee or member of the public for making a good faith report under this procedure.
